The PSA submission workflow

Seven steps, no surprises.

1. Pre-grade your batch

Run your candidate cards through SnapGrade. Send only the cards predicted 9.0+ — skip the cards likely to grade 7 or 8.

2. Create a PSA collector account

Sign up at PSAcard.com. Some collector memberships unlock bulk discounts and lower minimum order quantities.

3. Choose a service tier

Match the tier to declared value: Economy <$499, Regular <$1,499, Express <$2,499, Super Express+ above that. Wrong tier = re-routing delay.

4. Fill out the online form

Card name, year, set, declared value, quantity. Double-check spelling — typos cause holds and delays.

5. Pack carefully

Each card in a penny sleeve, then a card saver. Card savers in bubble mailer. No toploaders (PSA prefers card savers).

6. Ship with tracking + insurance

Use USPS Priority or FedEx with full tracking and insurance up to declared value. Required, not optional.

Common questions

Questions we hear all the time.

How long does a PSA submission take?
Total round-trip: Economy 60–120 days, Regular 30–60, Express 5–10 business days. Add 5–10 days for shipping each direction.
Do I need a PSA membership?
No, but PSA Collectors Club memberships include discounted submission credits and access to bulk programs. Worth it if you submit 20+ cards per year.
Can I send cards from outside the US?
Yes, but factor in international shipping costs, customs delays, and the extra friction. UK/EU/AU collectors often choose CGC for cheaper logistics.
Should I really pre-grade everything?
Yes for batches of 5+ cards. Even at $1.20 per pre-grade, catching one bad submission saves $40+ in PSA fees. Math is overwhelming.
