PSA Grading Cost Calculator

Calculate the total cost of your PSA submission, including handling, return shipping, and the per-card grading fee. We'll also show how much pre-grading with SnapGrade could save you.

PSA card grading costs between $25 and $600+ per card, depending on the card's declared value, the service tier you choose, and turnaround time. PSA also charges a one-time handling fee (~$10) and return shipping/insurance (from $15+). Calculate your total below — and see how pre-grading first changes the math.

Rough estimate. PSA pricing changes; verify current tier fees at psacard.com. Handling fee (~$10) and return shipping (from $15+) are added once per submission. SnapGrade savings calculation assumes ~30% of cards in a typical PSA submission return at grade 7 or lower (historical average) — your batch may vary.

How PSA pricing works in 2026

PSA prices each card by its declared value and the service tier you choose. Each tier has a maximum allowed value — you can't submit a $5,000 card at the Bulk tier. Choose the lowest tier your card qualifies for to minimize cost.

Tier Per card Max declared value Typical turnaround Notes
Bulk $19 $200 ~65 days Lowest cost; requires minimum batch + low max declared value
Value $25 $500 ~45 days Default for sub-$500 cards
Regular $50 $1,500 ~25 days Most common tier for collectors
Express $150 $5,000 ~10 days Fast turnaround for higher-value cards
Super Express $300 $10,000 ~5 days High-value cards with priority service
Walk-through $600 $25,000 ~3 days Premium tier for very high-value cards

What's NOT in the headline per-card fee

The per-card grading fee is the largest line item, but it's not the only one. Budget for:

PSA cost vs Beckett (BGS), CGC, SGC, TAG

For comparison, here's where the major grading services land on a 20-card Regular-tier submission (mid-2026 figures; verify current):

ServicePer card (Regular tier equiv.)Typical turnaroundBest for
PSA$50~25 daysPokémon resale premium, broad recognition
BGS (Beckett)~$30~30 daysSub-grades; smaller Pokémon market
CGC~$25~25 daysVintage and modern; growing TCG presence
SGC~$15–$30~10 daysSports cards; fastest turnaround
TAG~$20+VariesAI-driven slabbing alternative

How pre-grading changes the math

Here's a worked example using the calculator's logic:

Bulk submission pricing

PSA Bulk tier is the cheapest at ~$19/card, but it requires (a) a minimum batch size, (b) all cards under $200 declared value, and (c) longer turnaround. For large modern Pokémon sets, Bulk is the right tier — pre-grading still pencils out because you can avoid sending the 30% that won't grade well.

International — UK, Canada, Australia

PSA accepts submissions from outside the US, but you'll pay international shipping both ways plus customs. For UK/CA/AU collectors, the round-trip overhead can add $50–$150 per submission on top of the per-card fee. See card grading UK, card grading Canada, card grading Australia for per-region considerations.

Why pre-grading matters more for international submitters

International submitters have higher fixed costs per submission (shipping + customs). That makes the "wasted fee" math even worse for cards that come back at grade 7. Pre-grading with SnapGrade — $1–$2/card with no shipping — lets international collectors avoid the international round-trip on cards that won't grade well.

Common questions

PSA grading cost — questions we hear most.

How much does PSA grading cost for 10 cards?
Approximately $250 at the Value tier ($25/card) for 10 cards under $500 in declared value, plus a one-time handling fee of about $10 and return shipping/insurance starting around $15. Total: roughly $275–$300 for 10 cards.
How much does PSA grading cost for 20 cards?
Approximately $500 at the Value tier or $1,000 at the Regular tier for 20 cards, plus handling and shipping. A typical 20-card submission ends up between $525 and $1,050 before factoring in any cards that grade poorly.
Does PSA charge per card?
Yes. PSA charges a flat per-card grading fee based on the service tier (Bulk through Walk-through). On top of the per-card fee, you pay a one-time handling fee and return shipping with insurance.
Why is PSA grading more expensive for high-value cards?
PSA prices grading by the card's declared value because they assume the financial risk of holding the card. A $10,000 card requires Super Express or Walk-through tier; PSA can't insure or process a $10,000 card at the $25 Value tier.
Is PSA grading worth the cost?
Worth it when the PSA-10 (or PSA-9) value lift exceeds the per-card grading fee plus handling and shipping — typically when raw card value is $50+ and the card has a real PSA-10 premium. See should I send my Pokémon card to PSA? for a decision tree.
How much can you save by pre-grading with AI first?
Approximately 30% — that's the historical rate of submitted cards that come back at grade 7 or lower. If you pre-grade with SnapGrade and skip the flagged 30%, you save 30% of the batch's grading cost minus the $1–$2/card pre-grading fee. See how much can you save by pre-grading for worked examples.
