Pokémon card grading cost, tier by tier.

Pokémon grading isn't cheap. PSA, BGS, CGC and SGC each have their own pricing ladder — and the right tier depends on your card. Here's the 2026 breakdown.

Pricing by service

Four services, four pricing structures.

PSA — ~$25 to $75+

Economy $25 (60–120 days), Regular $50 (30–60 days), Express $75+ (5–10 days). Most popular for Pokémon resale.

BGS — ~$30 to $75+

Standard ~$30, premium tiers $75+. Best for Pokémon when shooting for a Pristine 10 with subgrades.

CGC — ~$18 to $50

Bulk TCG starts ~$18/card, standard ~$25, premium ~$50. Often the cheapest option with strong Pokémon program.

SGC — ~$15 to $50

Standard ~$15–20, premium ~$50. Less common for Pokémon but cheapest option for those who prefer the tuxedo slab.

The math that matters

For a typical 20-card Pokémon submission at PSA Regular ($50/card), all-in cost is roughly $1,050 including shipping. If pre-grading catches 6 cards that would have come back as 7s or 8s, you save $300 in unnecessary fees.

SnapGrade pre-grading cost: 20 credits × $1.20 = $24. ROI: 12× on a single submission.

When grading isn't worth it

Common questions

Questions we hear all the time.

What's the cheapest way to grade Pokémon cards?
CGC bulk TCG submissions are typically cheapest per card (~$18/card for 50+ cards). PSA bulk programs occasionally match this price.
How much does grading add to a Pokémon card's value?
For PSA 9: usually 2–5× raw value on holos. For PSA 10: often 5–20× raw value on marquee cards. The submission fee is recovered easily on most graded 9s and 10s.
Should I always grade my Pokémon cards?
No — only if predicted grade is 9.0+ and raw value is $40+. Pre-grade with SnapGrade to decide.
How do I calculate my full PSA submission cost?
Use our PSA cost calculator — input card count, declared value, and tier. It calculates per-card fee + handling + shipping, plus the savings from pre-grading first.
What about TAG / AGS — are they cheaper?
TAG and AGS are AI-driven slabbing services with different pricing (verify current). Their slabs carry smaller resale premiums than PSA for Pokémon — factor that in when comparing total ROI. See SnapGrade vs TAG.
